Sacraments and Funerals Baptisms Baptism welcomes people into the church. For infants it involves a short preparation course for the parents, followed by baptism usually on a Saturday or during Sunday Mass at one of the parish churches. For children or adults seeking baptism or reception into the Church in our parish, please contact Father. First Holy Communion  Preparation begins in the autumn term, for those wishing to make their first holy communion who are in Year 3 (7 years or older), leading to the celebration usually in May or June of the following year. Registration of children is normally required by the end of August. Reconciliation  The sacrament of reconciliation is available on request. Usually during Advent and Lent, the sacrament is available after weekday morning Masses and special services of reconciliation are held on specific times in local Catholic Churches. Confirmation  Confirmation is normally held once a year for young people in the parish, normally in May or June. Confirmation classes usually commence in December. The classes are aimed at young people 14 - 15 years of age, typically in year 10 at school.  Louise Redferne prepares young people to receive the sacrament of Confirmation each year and offers special preparation to anyone who may have missed out on this sacrament when they were younger. Marriages  In accordance with diocesan regulations, couples seeking to get married at All Saints Church or St Ambrose Church must give at least six months notice and will be required to attend a number of sessions to prepare for marriage.

Maybe you have not been able to join a preparation programme for receiving the Sacraments up until now, or you do not celebrate them as often as you would like. You may also have some questions about what the Sacraments actually mean and who can receive them. You can talk to Father about any of the Sacraments.
